Escape & Pray Day 4 News

Two teams departed to Escape & Pray today landing in:

  • Alicante, Spain
  • Ljubljana, Slovenia

14 teams were due to return to the UK today, although three didn't make it due to airline strikes and Gatwick’s collapsing runway! They get an extra night.

Being Sunday, lots of teams visited church gatherings today. Communicating the vision of Student Linkup to churches is crucial to this movement of church & students; that wherever a student goes to study in the world there’s a local church community ready to welcome them. View more here.

The day started with Rich & Joel being sent to one of the lesser known Escape & Pray destinations, Ljubljana. Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia has a student population of 63,000 students and is among the largest universities in Europe. Soon after landing it seems Rich & Joel met Bojan, a local church student worker. Connections and coincidences are happening all over. Just this evening our team in Stavanger met a contact of Rich’s. Rich made a trip to Norway recently exploring church & students with local leaders. The Net is growing.

We've had the pleasure of meeting two YWAM communities this weekend, one in Stockholm and another in Copenhagen. Our team in Madrid made it to two church services and were blessed with Mexican lunch from American missionaries.

Alan's team continued to have a God planned time in Bucharest. After being hosted in the ‘house of shalom’ they were invited to three different church services; Baptist, Catholic & Pentecostal. Alan had the opportunity to share with the church about revival in universities and churches throughout Europe & beyond linking up to welcome students.

In Nantes, France our team experienced God’s provision but were taken aback by the secular culture.

Our team in Sofia have simply seemed to have had an amazing time! Last night they treated locals to dinner after being welcomed into a youth conference. They've laid hands & prayed for Sofia uni and were joined by a local Christian passing by.

Back home in the UK students are preparing to depart. One Leicester church has today commissioned four teams of students departing later this week.
