How do you feel about a revamp? You know, when that fringe gets annoyingly too long, or the paint starts peeling off your bedroom walls.
I’ve had some interesting experiences all in the name of a good revamp. Like when my brother decided to decorate his study by nailing used coke cans into the wall...!? Or the time I decided to ‘go brunette’ and ended up with Pocahontas hair.
Revamp : an act or instance of restructuring, reordering, or revising something (Thank you, dictionary.com)
Here at Student Alpha HQ we too decided it was time for a revamp. Not of our hair or our office decor (although now we’ve started...) but of our studentalpha.org website.
For those of you not familiar with Student Alpha, it’s a seven week course introducing people to the Christian faith. Over the last ten years it has proved to be one of the most effective tools for university students and young adults to explore the Christian faith, with over 600 courses now running worldwide.
Its simple format has seen courses run everywhere from churches and halls, to McDonalds restaurants, curry houses and night clubs! It contains the same material as ‘classic’ Alpha, except that it’s been ‘squeezed’ (into seven weeks), ‘squashed’ (into thirty minute talks) and ‘spiced’ (with multi-media ingredients).
Everything you need to run your Student Alpha course is FREE and available on studentalpha.org. All you have to do is register your course. This doesn’t mean you have to run a course there and then, it’s so we know about your course and can help you if you need!
We also want to resource Christian students with as much information as possible to help them share their faith with their friends. Therefore there is loads of interesting news/video blogs/articles on the website to check out.
Unlike my interesting experiences of revamps, we think we’ve come up trumps with the new website. All the Student Alpha material is the same as before, we’ve just ‘restructured, reordered and revised’ the old site to make it as easy for you to navigate and use.
